Hello! Here’s your info post about the complete batch of Flashman.

There are quite a few updated episodes, so you can pick and choose what you want to download when you start the batch torrent.

1-30 + Movie: Updated for song lyrics. A lyric in the opening was romanized incorrectly. Also, the .mp4 versions of these episodes have slightly higher quality than their original release.

1-10: Updated for song lyrics. Fixed a grammar mistake in the ending song translation.

26, 29: Updated for mecha command grammar consistency with previous episodes.

There you have it. I keep saying I’m going to do better with song lyrics, but clearly I have some room for improvement there. Sorry everyone.

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about my next project. I did say in my JAKQ batch post that my next 2 (possibly 3) projects would be Super Sentai, so that narrows it down. Flashman was one, what’s next?

It’s Dai Sentai Goggle Five, the 1982 Super Sentai series! In my batch post for Denziman, the person who runs qadSubs basically gave me their blessing to redo the series, and that’s just what I’m going to do.

Releases will be in 5 batches of 10 again.

I’m leaving for vacation next week, so I don’t think I’ll be able to hammer out a release before then, so look for the first batch to come out sometime in October.

  1. Glad that the series can be binged now. Only wish someone would help Wandering Moonbeams so that you can start all the way from Bioman to the current series. My biggest problem with Flashman as a whole was where were the other parents and was there a way to search from the Flash System in safety? Another issue is how did no one on the Flash System not know about their weakness because there is always someone in exile who calls for help?

      1. Changeman is already 100% complete on krdl.moe and has been so for a while. You’re not mentioned on the Tokusubs on the matter.

  3. A million thanks ! Do you know the irony ? I just finished watching Goggle V from qadSubs. They were not perfect but they were at least completely understansable.

    1. The subs weren’t the issue. The writing was. The writing was so horrendous, I had to force my way through the season before getting back on track with Boukenger. Only Zyuranger is worse than Google V, and that’s barely so. I don’t think any form of resubbing will fix that.

      1. Do you mean the original writing sucked and that subbing made things worse? At least it wasn’t the weird dub of Dynaman.

  4. Thank you a tons for not only subbing Flashman, but for subbing all these other shows you have done. You wouldn’t believe how much joy I was in when you announced you were gonna start subbing the remaining Super Sentai seasons. I can’t believe their are only 4 Seasons that aren’t fully subbed. Well make that 3, now that you announced Goggle Five. I have a feeling Changeman will be next as both Dynaman and Turboranger are close to being subbed by other groups. I look forward to seeing what comes next from Metallic Fansubs.

  5. I hope MillionFold Curiosity will also give you the opportunity to subtitle Dynaman. The site seems forgotten.

    About Sharivan and Shaider, they plan to work in the bluray releases. Would it be okay for you to work with dvdrip releases? I think this would not hurt the code of ethics between fansubs. In any case, it would be great to see these series here someday.

  6. I hope you consider doing Exceedraft one day, as WeabooShogun seems to have completely forgotten about subbing that show for more than a year now. Even consider Janperson or Blue SWAT, which suffer similar neglect; I know you explained why you’d avoid B-Fighter Kabuto, but I don’t think it’d hurt to have subs for that at some point.

    1. Shogun has said that now Shinkalion has ended, they’re going to start back on Exceedraft, once they finish moving.

      Rampage just released more episodes of Blue SWAT.

      1. Are you talking about their release back in August? They’ve been so sporadic about the project that it hardly matters; one thing I can give Metallic Fansubs credit for is his regularity and quickness. At least he doesn’t take years and years to release just a handful of episodes, and drop projects on a whim. (Yes yes, real life happens, but there’s such a thing as planning things out better: WeabooShogun ought to have at least made an announcement on his site if he was just gonna drop his current project for a whole year to focus on something else, which I don’t think he should’ve done anyway.)

      2. Like it or not, I think it better not to rag on people doing the work that we are obviously unwilling to do… Courtesy is one thing, but harping on someone isn’t very courteous, I think. In the meantime, I’ll just watch other stuff. To cop an old phrase, if you don’t like it, do something about it yourself. That means all the headaches of translation and a ton of learning but good on you if you try! (?)

  7. Perhaps the one after Goggle V could be Ninja Captor. Haven’t heard about anyone subbing that series, plus it’s sometimes counted as a Sentai show. You want to go even more obscure, you could always do Kamen no Ninja Akakage. 1967. I don’t know how or why.

  13. Yes! Thank god that Flashman is subbed! Thank you so much! You rock dude! Now, I wonder what`s next sentai series to be subbed. I`m still waiting patiently on Dynaman, Turboranger to be subbed. Also, Timeranger and Dekaranger (Over-Time) is still unsubbed.

      1. Yep. True. I hope Dekaranger will be subbed soon. When I tried to download TV Nihon one, it looks blurry and it has bad quality. But, I`m glad that Timeranger was subbed by Shout Factory.

      4. Well, as far as I’m concerned, I’m patient. But it’s a better state than realeasing a dozen of the episodes in the first month before disappearing (I don’t think of any team in particular).

    Man, the guy up here asked CYBERCOP…. it’s a really awesome show that we saw, here in Brazil, back at 80’s e 9’s too. Deserve to be subbed someday… fingers crossed!

    And as for future subbing requests…how about Kodai Shoujotai Dogoon V. A sequel to a series TV-Nihon dropped, that seems to be completely up on Youtube:

    More of a comedy, but might make for a nice palate-cleanser between giant 50-episode marathons.

  20. Hey! I got something to say, so did you know that you said that sentai subs takes a year to finish? Well, when Dynaman will be released in Feb 2020 by MillionFold, the owner is slowly still doing it. I know it takes a year to get it subbed. But, that’s why making Sentai subs takes too long. It’s because you have to do a job or if one of the crew is busy doing something else.

    1. I don’t honestly think it’ll take that long because without some major detour, there was only one episode left to be translated… That said, with no contact, we don’t know. I credit Metallic for only taking on (mainly) one project at a time, so they have focus. But everyone has their own methods. I just am getting impatient waiting for Sentai to be completely subbed! XD

    2. You know, you’re the only one harping that Dynaman will be released in February of next year. Did you personally talk to the subber of MFC about the release date or you just pulled that date up your ass?

      1. Actually, I think some people that Dynaman will be released in February 2020 but only 50 episodes done and no 51 finished. That’s what I wonder why the owner was taking so long to finish the final episode of Dynaman. They were busy on something else instead and when I look up the update time, it said that last update was posted on February 2018 and the this update was posted on February 2019.

  21. THANK YOU for choosing to work on Goggle V!!! The subbers who’ve been working from the Portuguese dub don’t even speak Japanese, so they have no idea that what they’re really doing is translating a bogus dub of the series. If you think you’ve seen Goggle V because you saw the Portuguese version, or the translation of the Portuguese version, you’re sadly mistaken. The Portuguese version is NOT a translation of the Japanese! It’s a dub, featuring made-up stuff so that it sort of matches the Japanese actors’ lip movements. It’s horrible. Perhaps not as bad as the Phillippines English dub of Bioman, but — good lord, try watching that sometime, and you’ll see how bad the Goggle V Portuguese version is.

    Here’s to hoping Metallic doesn’t even look at the QAD version, and just does a straight translation from the spoken Japanese in the series. I can guarantee you there won’t be complaints about the writing if that happens. Thank you Metallic!

    1. That was my original purpose. To provide a placeholder until someone better came along and gave it the proper treatment. People begged me to stop, saying no one else would ever do it if I saw it through to conclusion. I’m happy to say that that person was very wrong. I’m thankful that Metallic is going to take up the Goggle-V mantle and give it the proper sub it deserves. And I will watch all 50 episodes and the movie!

      1. I understand your desire to complete it; I just think that hardly anyone knows what the source material really is. When I saw the commenter up above complaining about the writing, my heart sank — he doesn’t even know that what he’s complaining about is some made-up TV show dub, and has little to nothing to do with the original series. I bought the Brazilian versions of Flashman and Changeman, and the dubs are not the same as the Japanese. It’s just not the same series at all.

        I know you put in a TON of work. I understand that. I just hate to be the one to have to say the effort was misplaced, because the source material was so badly compromised. But I understand the desire. The Phillippines aired an English dub of Bioman, and GUIS’s translation of Bioman was stalled forever, i think GUIS did 38 episodes and then just stopped. So I hunted down the English Phillippines version, intending to finish the series off by transcribing their English “translation”. It wasn’t a translation at all! It was shocking just how horrible it was! They changed the characters’ names, they changed the plots, they totally just made up whatever the hell they wanted. What resulted can simply not be called “Bioman”, so I dropped that idea right away. I’m afraid the Portuguese version of Goggle V might be every bit as bad, though we’ll only know when Metallic finishes doing a true from-the-ground-up translation.

        I applaud your willingness to contribute, and your acknowledgement of it as a placeholder. I very much look forward to Metallic’s version (as well as, if Metallic is interested, looking at finishing off Dynaman and Turboranger, and maybe the last four episodes of Kamen Rider X if The Masked Subbers don’t finish it off).

    1. Dude! You’re A genius! I never knew that Metallic is helping Millionfold of dubbing Dynaman. Wow, I can’t believe that was true. Thanks man, now I’ve learned about Metallic helping someone was slow on old Sentai Subs.

  24. it also better to do changeman to change into better subs without g.u.i.s and Lordtranza33-DFF because it doesnt make any sense with different site. it should be one quality better subs with same subs.

      1. I think what they’re saying is that it would be nice if we had a complete set of Changeman subs from a single group for the sake of consistency, rather than patchwork subs from various different groups with inconsistent translation styles and terms.

  25. How soon until you begin working on Goggle V? You can take as long on your vacation as needed, just wanted to know when to start looking for posts.
